The 2nd time is always better...

So how do I feel about Ramage and RHETORIC, truthfully it doesnt really bother me one bit and i actually understand and agree with many of the concepts regarding his view on RETORICAL identity.

The part that mostly sparked my interest was when he discussed the 3 dementions of identity
the given, the readymade and the constructed.

I believe that it is important to have each of these identities if you are to be successful and suceed in this world. You must know when and how to be that readymade work place candidate when you are interviewing for that position, and you are number 5 out of 25.

You must know how to stand out in the crowd and show your prospective employer that you are everything they dreamed about and more on the basis of their ideal employee.

You must use the terms or phrases such as "loyal", "team player" combined with "great verbal and written comminication skills", when asked "why are you a good canidate for this job."

And if you dont or atleast use something simular or even more profound, then the odds of you landing that job are slim to none. Because there is going to be that readymade employee who will, even if he knows he is the total opposite.

on page 57 Ramage refers to a Willy the salesman from the play Death of a Salesman by Authur Miller. Ramage uses Willy's life as an example of how being the readymade employee can be your down fall unless

"we actively participate in the process of determining which readymade
identity suit our circumstances and the givens of our existence and that we
adapt these identities to OUR needs."
